Miss Spitfire - Book Review

Imagine being deaf and blind, with no one understand standing your needs or wants. All you can do is scream. That's the story of Helen Keller.

The story starts in 1887 when Anne Sullivan arrives at Ivy Green. Helen has a very aggressive attitude. D-o-l-l Anne spells into Helen's hand while she holds a doll in her other. Anne decides to teach Helen like this. The only problem is her attitude. She bites, scratches and kicks. Anne tries her best to teach Helen. Day by day, Helen grows more obedient and caring.

This book is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone. It is the miracle of learning. I think everyone can enjoy this book because there aren't lots of stories like this.

Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Meltdown - Book Review

What will Greg Heffley do when it's a snow day? He'll have a neighbourhood snow battle, that's right. Greg Heffley lives on Surrey Street and it's quite different from your average neighbourhood. On Surrey Street, you're either a hill kid or a non-hill kid. Greg and the hill kids can't stand the non-hill kids. In the summer the kids at the bottom never let the hill kids play down there. But in the winter the tables are turned. The hill is amazing for sledding and all the non-hill kids want in. Upper Surrey Street ambushing lower Surrey Street kids If you really want to enjoy and understand this book you have to know your Wimpy. In this book, there are a lot of callbacks to things that happen in previous books. So, to understand this book read a couple of the older Wimpy Kid books. So I really loved this book. On an island far away live the evilest villains on the planet. To make sure magic doesn't reach the island an invisible dome was built over the island. Maleficent, Jafar, The Evil Queen and Cruella de Vil are raising the most rotten villains when those villains get an invitation to attend a school outside the island they accept the invitation. Those same rotten villains choose the side of good. When Maleficent broke open the dome and got out it was up to Mal, Evie, Jay and Carlos to stop her. Mal defeated Maleficent by transforming her into a lizard. Life in Auradon is terrific, after defeating her mother Mal was considered a hero. The hero sat in the library studying as her mother was harmlessly sitting behind closed doors. All of a sudden the floor begins to shake, as it does quite often. Black History Museum

Black Canadians have made so many changes and contribution to our history. They have changed the way people think about Black people. They have led the path for many Black Canadians and have been an inspiration for many. My classmates and I have spent many weeks to demonstrate the real lives of Black Canadians, including all the struggles they faced. That is important to know because life wasn't all sunshine and rainbows for the Black Canadians. My topic was Africville. I know some of you don't know what Africville is. Well, I don't blame you. Things like this are usually not taught in school. Africville was an example of racism in Canada. Africville was a place that slaves escaped from the USA to live peacefully. It was peaceful and quite prosperous early on. There were many stores and businesses. But, the government of Halifax, Nova Scotia didn't care about letting them live in peace.
